About Ordering Small Amounts Of Product
There are two considerations involved when you consider shipping small orders.
The first is factory minimums.
The second is the cost of shipping.
In general, if you want to buy product direct from a factory in Poland, unless you order at least a pallet load, the shipping cost will make your venture unprofitable. The shelved cost of the product to you is too high for you to be able to be competitive.
Why? If you ship 1/4 pallet of goods by sea freight, your shipping costs will be almost equal to the cost of shipping a full pallet load.
The shipping costs for less than full pallet load often exceed the cost of the product.
You are better off to buy from a local distributor. We have a list of people who have notified us that they are selling polish products. Go to Polish Product Distributors
If you are ordering something such as jewelry that is normally shipped by courier, the above, of course, does not apply.
As for how much product is on a pallet? You can expect at least $1,000 euro. It can be 10,000 euro and more, depending on the product. That means you must be ready to order at least $1,000 euro, and probably more, of product at any one time.
About Shipping Less Than A Container Load
To some countries, and for some products,it does not even make economic sense to ship less than a full container load.
Combing Products From Different Factories
Factories do not provide this service. You have to find a person who will take shipments from each of the factories, unload the shipments and then reload on a new pallet.
You pay the cost of shipping from the factory to the reloader, then unloading and repacking costs. Finally you pay shipping from that reload point on.
Expect a significant charge to be made by the reloader.
If You Are A Retailer Or Shop Owner
If you are a retailer, the practical requirement to order a full pallet load is probably beyond your needs. So it is probably best for you to buy the product from a distributor in your local.
Your factory representative in Poland is probably the best source of advice on shipping its particular product. That representative should be able to give you a rough estimate of cost before you order. Once your order is completed, the weight and volume known, you will be able to get an exact cost.
