If you drink to much, take a cab. Don't make yourself a mark by staggering down the street.
Stay out of the brothels and don't patronize the street walkers.
Read the information about Train Travel.
Avoid the crush. Crowds of tourists attract pick pockets. Don't get into a crowd or into a crush where people can take advantage of you.
Use ATM and credit cards instead of carrying a lot of cash.
Use a money belt.
Don't hang your coat over a chair or on a coat rack in a restaurant unless you have checked that the pockets are empty. There are those who make a full time living going from restaurant to restaurant emptying pockets for people who don't do it themselves.
Think and always be alert. And be ready for the diversion. If something suddenly happens, grab your valuables.
Step back on the train, metro and tram platforms when the vehicle is approaching the stop. Don't end up being one of those being shoved under the wheels by someone rushing to get on first to get a seat.
Never look confused or lost. Get maps for your location before you get there. See Poland City Maps.
